COMMON HAPPY HEARTS questIons
How do I get started?
Start by contacting us through our website or calling us directly. You can also use our Get Started link to create your Happy Hearts profile through Time To Pet, the client software we use for scheduling, messages, visit updates, and payments. From there, we’ll learn about your dog or dogs, your location, the days you need help, and the arrival window that works for your routine. Because our schedule is route-based, visits are scheduled within an agreed-upon window. Once we confirm your location, schedule, and service needs are a good fit, we’ll schedule a meet and greet before visits begin.
What happens during the meet and greet?
The meet and greet is our onboarding visit before your dog’s first walk or potty break. We’ll learn your dog’s routine, review visit timing, potty routine, leash and harness setup, commands, access instructions, towels for wet days, where supplies are kept, emergency contacts, payment, and cancellation details. We’ll also make sure keys, codes, and app access are working before services begin.
What areas do you serve?
Happy Hearts Dog Walking primarily serves South Anchorage, Hillside, and nearby Anchorage neighborhoods. Because our schedule is route-based, availability depends on your location, visit time, and weekly schedule. If you’re outside our main area, please reach out and we’ll let you know if we’re a good fit.
Are walks private, and will I get updates?
Yes. We provide private walks for dogs from the same household only. We do not combine dogs from different clients or offer pack walks. After every dog walk or potty break, we send an update through Time To Pet with notes about the visit, photos, and sometimes video. We also use Time To Pet to message when we’re on our way or when we arrive, and we send a final update once your dog is cared for and everything is locked up..
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Because recurring visits are built into our weekday route, cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice are typically billed. We understand that emergencies, severe weather, and unexpected situations happen, and we do our best to handle those with care.
